ThermaServe’s Growth Story Shows What’s Possible When We Work Together

When ThermaServe joined Exigent in 2023, they brought strong local relationships and a reputation for great customer service. But like many companies in our industry, they were wrestling with challenges familiar to any growing business: dependence on large retrofit projects, limited specialty capabilities, and a service footprint that wasn’t fully leveraging market opportunities.

Rather than reinvent the wheel, we built on the foundation ThermaServe’s leadership had laid—layering in resources from across the platform. In less than 12 months, with shared expertise, strategic hires, and coordinated support, ThermaServe went from underperforming to the top performer in the group.

    ThermaServe added plumbing services by tapping into JPG’s knowledge, leaned on GFS for engineering, and worked with EASI to expand controls capabilities. These partnerships opened up new revenue streams and project types while strengthening technical confidence in the field.
  • A Focused Talent Strategy
    By targeting key hires—like a healthcare-experienced sales manager, a special projects leader, and seasoned field techs from competitors—ThermaServe built a stronger, more specialized team. They also grew their geographic reach by expanding operations in Savannah, Gainesville, and Daytona with local leadership in place.
  • Accountability That Drives Results
    A dedicated Growth Board (including leadership from Exigent and ThermaServe) met monthly, pairing strategic guidance with on-the-ground accountability. That cadence—along with insights from an experienced industry board member—helped unlock key hospital accounts and kept momentum going.
  • The Outcome
    In one year, ThermaServe doubled revenue, broke into healthcare markets, and built a $2M special projects backlog—all while earning a reputation as a destination employer in their region.
